SMITHCO - STEERABLE AXLE LOCK KIT 16.6K (RIDEWELL)

This kit is used on the smithco trailers utilizing a steerable drop axle. This kit will make the steer tires on the trailer lock in the straight position when the trailer is being backed up. With them locked in the straight position it eliminates the wheels from getting stuck to the left or right and being dragged backwards. When they lock up and get dragged; tie rod damage can occur as the tires are turned but the trailer is going straight and dragging the tires, flat spotting the tires can also occur in this situation. This kit is air operated to engage the steer tire lock function by pushing plungers from air cans into the knuckles forcing them to stay in the straight, locked position.  

PLEASE NOTE: This kit only works on the 16.6K ridewell steerable drop axles.
