The hex bolt is used on the bearing for securing it into the drive mount channel as well as securing the drive unit assembly onto the front swing arm.
PLEASE NOTE: This is for the 5/16" x 7/8" hex bolt only; item #19 in the picture, it's used in 4 locations.
