The Smithco lock pin is used on the side dumps to select what side you want to dump the bed from. It's a spring loaded assembly to hold the flapper style bed lock secure against the pivot pin.

The Smithco lock pin is used on the side dumps to select what side you want to dump the bed from. It's a spring loaded assembly to hold the flapper style bed lock secure against the pivot pin. When you lift this pin up the flapper lock can be dropped down making the bed dump from the side that's unlatched. Make sure that the side your dumping from is unlatched and the side that's not being dumped from is latched.

One trailer requires X4 lock pins if the trailer has the flapper style locks and not the hooks.
